Responsibilities and Services: Oversees the daily operations of county government and county departments. Works directly with the Legislature Chairman and County Legislature to develop county policies and local laws. Implements the programs and policy decisions of the Legislature. Responsible for the development and management of the annual county budget and auditing. Coordinates county purchasing activities including bid contracts, requests for proposals, state contract purchasing, and enforcement of purchasing policies.

Responsibilities and Services: Provides information and referral services to senior citizens on housing, transportation, social security, health care, nutrition, food stamps, legal assistance and other concerns. Sponsors congregate and home-delivered meals, also recreation at senior nutrition sites. Assists with fuel assistance and other programs for older residents of Oswego County. Outreach services are available at senior nutrition sites and older persons residences.

Responsibilities and Services: Serving the area of Oswego County as prosecutor for the state in criminal cases. Purposes of the STOP-DWI program are enforcement, public information and education, adjudication and rehabilitation of drunk drivers. The program is funded entirely by fines from convicted drunk drivers.

Responsibilities and Services: Provides on-the-job and occupational skills training for unemployed and under-employed Oswego County residents. The agency administers a variety of programs funded by the federal Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA), Economic Dislocated Worker Assistance Act (EDWAA) and grants from New York State and the local and state Department of Social Services.

Responsibilities and Services: Conducts training programs in the different techniques of fire fighting for volunteer fire fighters in the county. Training programs are conducted at fire stations in the county. Coordinates mutual aid services and serves as liaison between county government and the Fire Advisory Board, County Chief's Association, Firemen's Association, Fire Police Association, HazMat Team, Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team, and Rope Rescue Team. Conducts cause and origin investigations for local fire departments. Conducts the Fire Related Youth program in the county.

Responsibilities and Services: Probation is a service provider within the county's community corrections system responsible for four major services (1) Conducting pre- sentence and pre-dispositional investigations for all courts in Oswego County,(2) Supervising persons sentenced by the courts to a period of probation and persons released from the Oswego County Jail by the local conditional release program, (3) Attempting resolution or out-of-court adjustment of numerous family related problems (intake), (4) Collecting and disbursing restitution monies for crime victims. Probation personnel work to balance two major concerns : the behavior of the individual and the safety of the community.
