County Bridge over Salmon River Will be Open to One Lane in May
PULASKI - One lane of traffic will be open on the county Route 2A bridge over the Salmon River beginning the week of May 9, the Oswego County Department of Public Works announced today.
The deck and approach railings to the bridge will be replaced, said Donald Morey, county superintendent of public works. Traffic signals placed at both ends of the bridge will allow one lane of traffic to remain open at all times.
"Other than the fact that drivers may have to wait a few minutes to cross the bridge, the rehabilitation work won't affect fishing or other recreational use of the river," said Morey. He said the project is the first major work on the bridge since it was built in the 1960s.
Vector Construction of Cicero is the contractor for the project, which is expected to take 10 weeks.
