Oswego County Strategic Planning Task Force
The Oswego County Strategic Planning Task Force was created and appointed by Legislature Chairman Russ Johnson to provide the Legislature with an understanding of the key issues facing the county government in the coming years, and to develop a strategy for meeting the critical needs of the county’s citizens within available means.
The task force is headed by a steering committee and its work is dividied among five subcommittees:
The membership of the subcommittees includes county residents from all walks of life. Sectors of the community represented on the sub committees include small business, corporate management, agriculture, county employees, unions, service providers and recipients, non-profits, education, taxpayers, etc. Each subcommittee includes a county legislator who serves as a facilitator and liason to the steering committee and a county employee as a record-keeper. Although sub-committees were given basic areas to examine, they are free to expand their scope and set their own agendas and meeting schedules. Their meetings are open to the public.
