On 8/15/14 at 6:58 a.m., Victor J. Rowland, 21, of 102 Baldwin Ave., Fulton, NY was operating a 2005 Jeep suburban on SR 48 in the Town of Granby, 2/10 mile south of CR 46, when the vehicle reportedly hydroplaned causing him to lose control and the vehicle to exit the west shoulder of the roadway and strike a mailbox before striking the culvert. Mr. Rowland was transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

On 8/21/14 at 12:00 a.m., David L. Reynolds, 44, of 408 Fitch St., Syracuse, NY was arrested in the Oswego County Correctional Facility and charged with Promoting Prison Contraband, 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 7th degree, both class A misdemeanors following the investigation into an incident at the OCJ in which he was found to have narcotics on him. Mr. Reynolds was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the City of Oswego Court on 9/4/14. This case remains an open investigation.

On 8/21/14 at 6:35 p.m., Michael A. Daghita, 19, of PO Box 95, Hannibal, NY was operating a 2003 Chevrolet suburban west on CR 3 in the Town of Granby, mile east of Muck Drive, when a deer reportedly entered the roadway and collided with the vehicle causing him to lose control and the vehicle to partially exit the north edge of the roadway and the vehicle to turn onto the passenger's side before coming to rest. A passenger in the vehicle, Mackenzie L. Casler, 19, was transported by ambulance to Oswego Hospital.

On 8/21/14 at 9:15 p.m., Susan M. Smith, 35, of 168 Canning Factory Rd., Pulaski, NY was arrested at her residence based on a Bench Warrant issued out of the Town of Richland. Ms. Smith was arraigned by Hon. Judge Gracey in the Town of Mexico Court and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $200 cash or $500 bond with a return to the Town of Richland Court on 8/25/14.


08/21/14

On 8/20/14 at 12:22 p.m., Lewis J. Steinbrecher Jr., 33, of 3011 CR 2, Pulaski, NY was arrested based on a Family Court Warrant issued out of Oswego County charging him with violating Article IV of the Family Court Act, failure to pay child support Mr. Steinbrecher was arraigned by Hon. Judge Todd in Family Court and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond with a return to court on 9/9/14.


08/20/14

On 8/16/14 at 2:52 a.m., Rita L. Hunt, 43, of PO Box 96, Sterling, NY was reportedly operating a 2004 Chevrolet pickup west on SR 176 in the Town of Granby, mile west of CR 55, when she lost control causing the vehicle to exit the north side of the roadway striking an earth embankment then proceed down into a ditch before striking a utility pole. Ms. Hunt was issued a UTT for Unlicensed Operator. A deer entering the roadway seems to have been a contributing factor.

On 8/19/14 at 1:44 p.m., Robert T. Emmons, 33, of 4058 CR 57, Oswego, NY was arrested based on a Bench Warrant issued out of the City of Fulton. Mr. Emmons was arraigned by Hon. Judge Hawthorne in the City of Fulton Court and ROR'd with a return to court on 9/24/14.


08/19/14

On 8/4/14 at 10:34 p.m., Thomas J. Minter, 21, of 3210 US Rt. 11, Mexico, NY was reportedly operating a 2009 Nissan south on Bidwell Rd. approaching CR 26 in the Town of Parish when the vehicle's brakes reportedly failed causing the vehicle to cross CR 26 and collide on the east end with the residence at 2891 CR 26. Mr. Minter was issued a UTT for Inadequate Brakes.

On 8/14/14 at 12:48 p.m., Autie R. Ascensi, 20, of 202 East 6th St., Oswego, NY was reportedly traveling south on SR 48 in the Town of Minetto and operating a 2003 Chevrolet pickup when attempting to make a left hand turn into a private driveway, collided with a 2013 Chrysler suburban being operated by Kristine D. Purtell, 48, of 1 Old State Rd., Fulton, NY that was traveling north. Ms. Purtell and a passenger, Adelle L. Bush, 48 were both transported by ambulance to Oswego Hospital. Mr. Ascensi was issued a UTT for Failure to Yield the Right of Way.

On 8/14/14 at 11:32 p.m., Jody M. Robinson, 31, of 374 CR 51A, Oswego, NY was charged with Disorderly Conduct stemming from an incident at the Williamstown Field Days where he allegedly started fights and verbal arguments with multiple individuals. Mr. Robinson was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Minetto Court on 8/20/14.

On 8/16/14 at 3:15 p.m., Robert A. Waldau, 53, of Frederick St., Constantia, NY was arrested based on a Bench Warrant issued out of the Town of Constantia Court charging him with Criminal Trespass, 2nd degree. Mr. Waldau was released in the Town of Constantia Court by Hon. Judge Pelon.

On 8/17/14 at 1:23 p.m., Ashley M. Fitzgerald, 20, of 3881 SR 104, Mexico, NY was reportedly operating a 2004 Ford west on Countryman Rd. in the Town of Mexico and had stopped at the intersection with SR 3 before proceeding through the intersection and colliding with a 2000 Chevrolet suburban being operated by Brad A. Pfluger, 52, of 4027 Port St., Pulaski, NY that was traveling south. Ms. Fitzgerald was issued a UTT for Failure to Yield the Right of Way.

On 8/18/14 at 1:52 p.m., Joseph M. Longwell, 24, of 47 Mynder Street, Seneca Falls, NY was arrested at the OCJ based on a Fugitive From Justice Warrant issued out of Atlantic County, New Jersey. Mr. Longwell was arraigned in the Town of Scriba Court by Hon. Judge Adkins and remanded to the OCJ held without bail and a return to T/O Scriba Court on 9/18/14.

On 8/18/14 at 4:30 p.m., Allen J. Carpenter, 34, of 8282 Kimball Rd., Blossvale, NY was arrested at the PSB in Onondaga County based on a Family Court Warrant issued out of Oswego County. Mr. Carpenter was arraigned by Hon. Judge Todd in Family Court and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond with a return to Family Court on 8/20/14.

On 8/12/14 at 2:15 p.m., Samuel J. Porter, 24, of 3901 SR 104, Mexico, NY, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Second (license revoked with five suspensions from three scoffs on three dates: suspension on 3/12/13 for Failure to Pay a Fine in the Town of Albion, suspension on 12/07/12 for Failure to Answer a Summons in the Town of Hastings, suspension on 7/19/12 in the Town of Ellisburg, and revocation on 3/10/12 for a traffic offense occurring during conditional/restricted license program; suspension on 5/25/2009 for a suspended probationary license); Operation While Registration Suspended/Revoked (registration suspended for insurance lapse); Failed to Keep Right; and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, stemming from the investigation into a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Town of New Haven. Mr. Porter was arraigned before Town of Volney Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of New Haven Court on 8/21/14. Mr. Porter was reportedly operating a 2002 Saab westbound on SR 104 when he made a left turn into a driveway 50 feet east of CR 44 and reportedly failed to yield the right of way to an eastbound 2007 Ford driven by Gary W. Cornell, 69, of 231 North St., Mexico, NY. He then reportedly left the scene on foot. Both Mr. Cornell and his passenger, Elaine A. Cornell, were transported by ambulance to the Oswego Hospital.

On 8/14/14 9:50 p.m., Miranda L. Terry, 20, of 132 CR 43, Mexico, NY, was issued tickets for Speed in Zone and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Third Degree, following a traffic stop on Middle Road in the Town of Scriba. Ms. Terry is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Scriba Court on 9/11/14. She was released to a third party.

On 8/15/14 at 11:09 p.m., Domingo R. Garcia, 58, of 47 Mitchell Court, New London, Ct., was taken into custody based on a warrant issued by Town of Scriba Court after it was revealed during an unrelated traffic stop. Mr. Garcia was arraigned before the Hon. Kenneth Adkins, Town of Scriba Court, and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $30 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 8/21/14.



Domingo R. Garcia

On 8/16/14 at 12:31 a.m., Jason M. Bivens, 36, of 102 E. 7th St., Oswego, NY, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, Failure to Keep Right, and Crossed Official/Hazardous Road Markings, following a traffic stop on SR 104 in the Town of Hannibal. Mr. Bivens was issued an appearance ticket and uniform traffic tickets and released. He is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Hannibal Court on 9/02/14. While driving northbound on SR 104, Mr. Bivens was reportedly observed crossing the center line and fog line several times. He was also found to be in possession of a glass smoking device containing marijuana residue.

On 7/16/14 at 10:37 a.m., Gregory R. Shoults, 20, of 8937 N. Main St., Port Byron, NY, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, after reportedly found with a glass pipe containing marijuana residue in his backpack. Mr. Shoults was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Granby Court on 9/08/14. The arrest was the result of a suspicious person complaint when Mr. Shoults had been reported to be riding up and down CR 31 in the Town of Minetto.

On 8/16/14 at 1:04 p.m., Jamel L. Kent, 28, of 219 Craig St., Syracuse, NY, was arrested for Reckless Endangerment, Second Degree; Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Fourth Degree; and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, all class A misdemeanors, stemming from a domestic dispute that took place while traveling southbound in a vehicle on I-81 in the Town of Hastings and in the presence of three minors. During the incident Mr. Kent is accused of throwing baby powder into the victim's face as she drove the vehicle, impairing her visual ability to drive. He is also accused of opening and closing a switchblade knife during the argument. Mr. Kent was arraigned before Town of West Monroe Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $400 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Hastings Court on 9/18/14. A member of the Village of Central Square Police Department assisted with the investigation.



Jamel L. Kent

On 8/17/14 at 4:19 a.m., Joseph A. Schwalm, 20, of 794 US Route 11, Central Square, NY, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving With .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol, stemming from the investigation into a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Perfield Road in the Town of Hastings. Mr. Schwalm is scheduled to answer the charges before Town of Hastings Court on 9/01/14. Operating a 2004 Ford northbound on Perfield Road, Mr. Schwalm lost control 2/10 of a mile north of Wilson Road while reportedly swerving to avoid a deer that had entered the roadway. The vehicle proceeded off the east side of the roadway and struck two mailboxes, then continued to travel northbound into a gathering of trees. It then reportedly struck two trees on the driver's side causing the vehicle to turn around approximately 180 degrees, coming to rest facing southwest. The incident remains under investigation at this time.



Joseph A. Schwalm

On 8/17/14 at 11:54 p.m., Stephen T. Lopitz, 62, of 7 Schoolhouse Road, Apt. 4, Redfield, NY, was arrested for Falsely Reporting an Incident, Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor, following an incident that occurred at the intersection of CR 26 and Crim Road in the Town of Parish. Mr. Lopitz is accused of reporting a murder that did not take place. He was arraigned before Town of Parish Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to return to court on 8/19/14.
